Chayote Squash
A member of the gourd family, this versatile vegetable from Latin America is quickly becoming a produce department standard. We import Chayote from Costa Rica. All product is checked and repacked at our warehouse. Our Chayote is smoother and has a longer shelf life than the more common Mexican variety. Though similar to summer squash, Chayote usually requires a longer cooking time due to its firmer texture. Choose squash that are heavy for size and have hard, blemish free skin. Available year round.
